Mr. Li, 38 years old, is from Fujian Province. He has one son and one daughter and lives a happy life of four people. Mr. Li himself is engaged in mineral business. His business involves exporting. Due to working reasons, his children are different from other children from an early age, because they’ve been drifting around with Mr. Li and his wife. His daughter was born in the United States and his son was born in Hong Kong, China.
The "origin" of Mr. Li’s immigration into Turkey is also related to his business. Turkey's strategic position across Asia and Europe and its developed sea, land and air transport make it a paradise for foreign trade.
It is necessary to mention that Turkey formally became a member of the EU Customs Union in 1966, enjoying the treatment of member countries in trade. The mutual exemption of imports and exports between Turkey and EU Member States and the abolition of quantitative quota restrictions have created very good conditions for Turkey's products to enter the EU. At the same time, except agricultural products and some special commodities, third-country products can be freely circulated between Turkey and EU member countries.
Uoolu: When did you consider immigration? Why do you like Turkey?
Because of my business, I actually had this idea a long time ago, and learned a lot about immigration and green cards. I think it's the most convenient and a faster way to buy a house for immigration.
At first, we compared these immigration countries, including Malta and Cyprus, and found that Turkey's process was the simplest. There is also a core reason, because I do foreign trade business, Turkey's geographical location is very suitable, convenient for my business development, and I do not have too many requirements on other expenses.
Uoolu: Can you share with us the general process of your Turkish immigration?
Last month, in July, I began to learn about Turkish immigration. It took me about 20 days from my previous understanding of the national immigration policy to the choice of a more suitable house. On July 20, a flat was finally selected and a deposit of about $50,000 was made. But from my point of view, I still hoped to go to Turkey to see the house, because if I did not visit the field, I was not very confident whether it’s worth the money spent.
So I contacted them later that I wanted to go to Turkey to have a look. They had a five-day and four-night visit to the house. Besides looking at the house, they could also help us travel around Turkey. I thought it's quite convenient. Then I took my wife to Turkey on August 5.
When I arrived in Istanbul, I knew what a good trip it was. I was more sure that my decision was right. The whole place left me a very good impression about how strong a cultural atmosphere it was. I thought it would be very good for the growth of my children. Besides, the local culture was both Asian and European. My wife and I liked it very much, and the food was also my favorite.
After I finished looking at the house, I immediately decided to buy the house I had looked at before. Local people took me to sign the attorney's authorization letter, open a local bank account, handled tax number, all completed within one day, which made me feel that although their overall process was very strict, each had strict regulations, yet their efficiency was still quite high.
Later, when I returned home, I paid the final amount of the house, about 200,000 dollars. Now the house has reached the stage of transfer. After that, we will go to Turkey again to enter fingerprints, and I’ll take my wife and my children with me. Then we will wait for our passport. The whole process is very fast. Maybe by the end of this year, our family of four will be able to get our Turkish passport officially.
Apart from being very convenient for your own business, what other advantages do you see in Turkey?
Turkish passport is very cost-effective for me. I did a lot of homework before I did this.
Apart from what we have just said, I want to start trading with Turkey. I also know that Turkey has a good foundation. Although it is not a member of the European Union, the Ankara Agreement also makes Turkey and the European Union have a great relationship. For example, I took Turkey's passport, so I can do it in the future. To apply for a British business visa to do business in the UK.
In addition, Turkey has an agreement with the United States that Turks can also apply for an E2 visa from the United States. So in fact, its added value is still very high, if my wife and I have the idea of taking British and American green cards in the future, it will be a great advantage.
